The Male Fertility Clinic has partnered with UK health tech specialist OX.DH to streamline their appointment booking and test results processes for staff and patients, through modularised use of OX.DH’s assisted reproduction solution.

Through the collaboration, The Male Fertility Clinic - specialising in providing comprehensive semen analysis testing - has automated previously manual processes including online patient registration, appointment scheduling, electronic pre-health questionnaires, reports, and test results, reducing the administrative burden for staff and improving the patient experience.

In addition, the move has centralised The Male Fertility Clinic’s patient management, appointment booking and test result functionalities, with single sign on for staff to the solution to access all aspects of patient notes, correspondence and clinical results.

A health tech start-up with links to the University of Oxford, OX.DH leverages Microsoft cloud technology to provide solutions that are secure by design and by default, with cloud-native solutions supporting the integration and digitalisation of healthcare workflows.

OX.DH has developed an end-to-end clinical solution which is designed to support the workflow through assisted reproduction; however, recognising that the entire solution is not always required, OX.DH has made use of the modular microservices architecture of the solution, and the Microsoft platform, to offer the required features at a tailored and individual level, while retaining the ability to expand as needed in the future.

John Kosobucki, OX.DH CEO and founder, said: “Our partnership with The Male Fertility Clinic has really demonstrated the flexibility of our solutions and affirmed our commitment to a microservices architecture. Each of our solutions has different modules that complement each other, allowing us to work with our customers on a solution that suits them now and in the future, to provide services to their patients that are deeply personal and often life changing; and that is exactly what the clinic has done.

“Our software is also supporting the clinic in terms of security. It ensures GDPR adherence and helps to minimise security risks as there is no longer a need to transfer data between systems.”

Olivia Musa, founder of The Male Fertility Clinic and andrologist, said: “Prior to partnering with OX.DH, our process was largely manual. It worked when we were just starting out, but we have doubled capacity since then and it was no longer sustainable. We have ambitions to double our capacity again, so having OX.DH’s software in place stands us in good stead as we look to develop and potentially offer more services.

“On a human level, the solution makes life easier for our staff and our patients. Staff don’t have to spend their time swapping between systems and sending out forms, and patients will have a log of correspondence from the clinic in their emails, from one centralised place. If they need to access anything in the future, it will all be there.”
